I have been drawing and painting from a young age, with the natural world always being my biggest theme. As I have grown older, living in the countryside, gardening, and keeping animals have become increasingly important to me and provide the central inspiration for my work. My paintings are predominantly about small event and fleeting moments--such as a brief glimpse from a window, or the changing quality of light that brings something alive--that colour the everyday. Although I keep sketchbooks, many of these moments appear in my paintings from memory, creating a repetition of the familiar.
